“I was always looking outside myself for strength and confidence, but it comes from within. It is there all the time.”Anna Freud
In times like the Covid-19 pandemic, what people need the most after medical care is inner peace, hope and good mental health. One can achieve all this by attaining a continuous state of internal motivation. Intrinsic motivation is the act of doing something without any obvious external rewards. You do it because it’s enjoyable and exciting, rather than because of an outside incentive or pressure to do it, such as a reward or deadline.
Most people nowadays are externally motivated. They search for motivation in the outside world. We often find ourselves browsing YouTube for motivational videos but such motivation last for a very short time, usually just a couple of hours. People often ask how to feel constantly motivated. Motivation is something that comes from within and not from the outside world. If one is really focused on his/her goal, they don’t waste time searching for motivation on YouTube. In fact, they are constantly working all the time. We can learn so much from people like Elon Musk, Sir Ratan Tata. They spend most of their time working. Their constant source of motivation is to bring a change in this world, serve their country, rise to the top of their career, and be the best version of themselves.
Often people who fail have a lot of reasons why they were not able to make it, and the people who succeed often have just one reason why they need to succeed, and they do it. You need one reason why you want to do it, and that will be your constant source of motivation. This will help you achieve your goal while keeping you motivated, confident and uplifted all the time. Just remember you don’t need any motivation from the outside world. You need to focus on your dream, and it will not let you rest till you achieve it.
