Yumi sat on her desk lost in thoughts, clicking her pen while someone looked on. Luke sat with Ethan explaining to him who Yumi actually was, she is a trainee doctor under Dr. Brooks who was here on a personal request to help out Ethan. She has been monitoring him for the past few weeks after analysing his files.
Yumi was asked for an appointment after office hours to discuss what needs to be done while Ethan kept pondering whether he had met her any time before but the answer kept on taking him back to the memory from the park or was it even a memory.
Sitting in a quiet room, Yumi looked around the place, the room even though was at an isolated place, it was made to make someone feel calm, the sunlight falling through the tinted glass, with little flowers painted on the glass making the light falling inside the room colourful, a couch put up near the window with a frame sitting on the side table with Ethan’s and Luke’s photo.
“This room was designed to make Ethan feel calm,” Luke said, when he noticed Yumi looking around, from what Yumi had read she knew that Ethan had an artistic side, he loved painting and all the painting on the window glass was done by him. Even though this room was for Ethan to feel better, he only used it when he actually felt better, not the other way round.
Dr. Brooks had given Yumi the authority to take care of Ethan and she can take his sessions for the time he was out of town. Yumi made herself comfortable on the chair while Ethan came in after freshening up. He sat down with a sigh.
“Mr. Gray, today we will try talking to Lizzy first, she came around when you were in your pre- teens but your mind has shut itself from opening up that memory as to why Lizzy came out in the first place. Taking on Lizzy’s personality, she’s very jovial and strong so she must have come at a moment similar to that.” Yumi explained while looking at Ethan while Luke sat outside waiting.
“Since Lizzy has not come out after you and William came in contact, I want you to try to bring out Lizzy,” Yumi said and Ethan just nodded. He closed his eyes and after a point Yumi’s voice faded away. Yumi looked on when he opened his eyes, smiling brightly at her, she knew it was Lizzy and they both started talking, what surprised Yumi was that Lizzy never for once asked who she was since Lizzy had only met Dr. Brooks.
Yumi pointed it out asking if they have met before but Lizzy denied with a teasing look in her eyes, “Then how are you talking to me as if you’ve known me for years?”
“Oh, are you not William’s friend? He was looking at your picture when I came out, though you look a lot younger than the photo he has of yours and your facial structure is also different, I wonder how?” Lizzy said.
