पन्ने थे जो कोरे,
स्याह हो गए अब।
ख्वाब-ए-बगीचा, कलम हो चला है।
चला वो, लिखता चला जा रहा है।।

खुश थे जो पिंजड़े,
खफ़ा हो गए अब।
काफिला-ए-पँछी, स्वतंत्र हो चला है।
उड़ा वो, उड़ता चला जा रहा है ।।

चला तो पता था,
मगर, खो गया अब।

पता जब चला तो, शिखर पा लिया है।
ना शिखर की खुशी है,
ना सफर का पता है,
वक़्त-समंदर, साहिल का नशा है।
सबसे जुदा, बस तुमसे बँधा हूँ।
तुमसे बँधा तो, खुद को पा लिया है।
चला मैं, चलता चला जा रहा हूँ।।
