Yumi pointed it out asking if they have met before but Lizzy denied with a teasing look in her eyes, “then how are you talking to me as if you’ve known me for years?”, “Ohh, are you not William’s friend?, He was looking at your picture when I came out, though you look a lot younger than the photo he has of yours and your facial structure is also different, I wonder how” Lizzy said.
Yumi looked puzzled, never having met Ethan before, this information from Lizzy’s part came as a surprise but she asked her to continue. Lizzy for the first time sat in the same state for hours which Yumi found as a sign of improvement since she got to know more about the personality and what triggered it to become a part of Ethan.
Ethan was 13 when he used to get bullied and beaten up by his fellow schoolmates and one day the situation reached its extreme. He was lying in the corner, badly beaten with a bloody mouth breathing hard. The other left while laughing at him and Ethan fainted. He had woken up with a bearable pain all over his body and to his astonishment he doesn’t remember what had led him back home when he was lying in the locker room of the basketball court. It was then when Lizzy came into the picture, having fainted from all the beatings and torture, Ethan gave birth to Lizzy who took him home, tended his wounds and then slept, the first and the only friend he had to protect him before Luke came into his life.
Lizzy tells her that William had met a woman who looked like her when they were on their way back home that day, because William had taken over for a few moments since Ethan’s defence mechanism was to put on William on the front in any situation like this, the woman had made him sit on a bench, wiped his face and made him drink some water. He had still refused her help in the moment of anger but that woman wasn’t even fazed.
While Lizzy was talking something flickered in her eye and came to William. He didn’t look like the man he usually behaves to be. With slouched shoulders and watery eyes William looked like a little 13 year old boy, sad and afraid. “Where is Lizzy, I’m sorry Lizzy, I didn’t mean to do it, I shouldn’t have left you out that day” He hung his head low while he whimpered away into his memories. Luke and Yumi looked at him with a little bit of relief, for he was showing signs of improvement.

Luke sighs and looks out of the window from the couch of a hospital room while William talks to Yumi.
After the session Yumi thanks William and he stands up to leave, “I felt nice talking to you today Dr. Hazel”. She nods and William walks with Luke.
He walks around the whole place, talking to Luke about work, while Luke/Andrew looks at Yumi/Hazel and sighs at the never ending life of William Gray as a second character in his own life in Ethan Gray’s form. While Lizzy is just his younger sister who had died, when they were 13, because William had mistakenly left her outside in the snow while playing.
