Fatal charms, the venom of love.
Casted a spell to lure me in.
He who stood in his shining armor,
Was not just the knight of my dreams.
But the lord of stealth, the king of shadows.
The chalice of sweet nectar.
The mouth of lustful snares.
My power turned into my undoing.
That sly walk, my nemesis.
I gave into the gamble.
My heart, my desire was to be blamed.
The warmth, oh, the warmth.
Set my core ablaze.
Made me embrace the bane
The enchanter arose victorious.
My sins were my triumph.

Hello, I am Pratha Sachdeva.
Wordplay is an escape for me; I write to create a world for myself and for the people who think escapism isn’t so bad after all. Inspired by my favorite poets Emily Dickinson and Edgar Allan Poe, I try to explore the themes of struggles with self, death, love, nature, and the links between them all in my poetry and proses.
