Vijay Diwas

I will try to come home,
Written in their letters as the last words of hope.
For their families and loved ones,
With the bitterness of life to cope.
But, they never did return.

Neither the doting father,
Nor the caring brother.
Neither the loving husband,
And nor the only son.

With endless love for our motherland,
They put up their lives on hand.
They were ready to defeat and sacrifice for,
Engulfed in their blood were slogans.
As “Yeh Dil Mange more.”They restrained India’s dignity to be forsaken,
Never bothered by their life and souls being taken.
They were the defeatless lions,
Our country’s beloved sons.

They restrained India’s dignity to be forsaken,
Never bothered by their life and souls being taken.
They were the defeatless lions,
Our country’s beloved sons.

But still a thought haunts me,
How would their families be?
Pained at the loss,
But proud of what their warrior’s earned,
Their life’s are a lesson we all learned.

For their motherland they left their own mothers’ hand,
For our safety they took a hysterically great stand.

Let’s not forget today,
Whom they left behind.
Let’s keep these warriors in our hearts,
And to their families be kind.
