How’d you hold up when you don’t see the road ahead?
Resilience, the mother of all trying times,
He holds your hand through the day and pats your back through the night.
Even when you lie awake.
Even when you cry while you pray.
The world wouldn’t know,
What you’d never show,
For everything that sells on the sur-FACE.
That they purchase, albeit with a lack of grace!
You do you, with all your blues.
You do you and find what’s true.
You made it this far, all by yourself.
Don’t let anyone discount your journey, and place it nicely on a closed shelf.
Cry, break, fall, be as disoriented as you want to be,but walk along with these pieces,
Until you set yourself free.
You’re meant for the big feelings as much as the subtle ones.
And even if your days resemble your nights now,
They’re just passing clouds,
Remember what Amma says?
And once they do, how will you fare when the road becomes noticeably brighter?

Hello, My name is Sowmya Krishna Kumar.I work as an advanced analyst at my day job and then post I that switch roles to writer/poet.
I found my passion for writing in 2016 and there’s been no looking back since then, having amassed over 300 poems/creative write-ups in my 5-stack used up journals/diaries.
My dream is to work and grow in the publishing world. To walk closer to this dream, I undertook a certified experiential course in Editing and Publishing conducted by ‘Bound India (one of the budding publishing houses in India). My aim through my writing is to heal the world through the sheer power of words.
