This year was like a wedding cake, Carefully planned, Yet steered by the Baker’s designs. Layers of hurt loss and fears, carefully sandwiched between hugs support and cheers. Heartaches smoothed over by creamy smearing of love, Frostings of wins and stumbles. Hope sprinkled above, Encouraging figurines perched atop, Contrasting flavours coming together, Creating my unique timeline. The cake’s now gone, Erased by time’s wave, Giving way to new writing on the sand, But its memory still lingers in my mouth.
