Train Journey

Written by Writer Gayathri R. And edited by Editor Mrinali Jadhav

Train Journey is one of the most comfortable and pocket-friendly journeys.

One can witness a different level of experience when he/she takes up a train journey. It is one of the most fascinating journeys one can come across. Most people find train journeys as ideal when it comes to regular commuting, i.e., commuting to office, school, colleges, or to any place through suburban trains.

The same goes for me…since my college days, I have been commuting by train on a daily basis. It has been more than 8 years, and I still prefer the train to commute to the office.  In fact, whenever I look for a new opportunity/job, I look for commutation options that include a train journey.

This may sound silly, but train travel always tops the list. One may wonder what is so special about train journeys? Scroll further to know what fascinated me and ji still continues to fascinate me when it comes to train journeys…What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear about the Train Travel?Crowd? Cost-effective? Quick/easy mode to commute? What not? It can have N number of reasons and it definitely differs from person to person. But for me, it’s a New World!

So many faces with different thoughts and emotions from a diversified age group, traveling to and fro with a hope and for different purposes! Everyday, I get to witness a new experience, feel, scenario or whatever it may be… When you look at the crowd as a whole, all you get to witness is all heads dived deep down into their mobile.

Majority of the people are either scrolling their social media pages or long conversations. But deep down, when you observe – each and every face has a story. I have seen happy faces – smiling their heart out and talking. I have seen people cry-out their heart silently under the mask. I have seen people fighting for their life over a phone call.

I also get to witness vendors selling various items and kids performing somersaults for their livelihood. When people complain about the smallest things, these vendors and kids do their daily duties with a happy smile! In fact, they represent the harsh reality of life… How many of us get to understand this in real life? All we do is keep complaining even about the smallest mishappenings in life. I get to witness a few vendors on a daily basis.

We even share a happy smile and exchange a few words. I have never seen them with a sad face. Even towards the end of the day, their energy levels are really high. One thing that I get to learn from these people is that “Never Lose Hope!”.Lakhs and lakhs of people commute through trains on a daily basis. Though the destination of the train seemingly going to be the same, some get down in the middle, some board the train the in the midway, and some travel with us together till the end point.

We may not reach the same destination, but we tend to share the same path. Similarly, life’s journey is a mystery to everyone. We do not know at which station (life phase) we ourselves will step down. So we must live in the best way – Love, laugh, forgive, and let’s offer the best of who we are! It is important to follow this because when the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty – we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who continue to travel on the train of life.

More importantly, be thankful for the journey and learn to express gratitude for the things we are blessed with! Spread love and smile as much as possible… In the world full of hatred, let’s spread love, kindness, and compassion.
