B.tech Stories by Maan #1

How did your quarantine go?

My quarantine went really bad.

The quarantine started a day after my mathematics exams. If it started, but a day early, I wouldn’t have to take my maths exam.

Before my maths exams, I used to think that my maths exams won’t happen because of quarantine.

These politicians really hate students. If only they started it a day before, would they have received less tax? No.

Then why did they not just start the lockdown?

So my lockdown was cursed from the get go.

On the third day of lockdown, my uncle called me and asked what I was up to. He gave me the idea that I should play on my PS4, because it was still a long way to the end of lockdown.

I said, “Sure. Let’s play.”

I started playing.

Sigh.

Within a week my mom complained to my father about it and my gaming was packed and locked up with the rest of stuff. (We were moving houses before lockdown and were going to complete the transfer as soon as lockdown ended.)

No breaks at all. Study the entire day.

Too much work and no play makes Maan a very dull boy.

Even machines need to cool down and get oiled from time to time. Even my bed was packed up and ready for move. All I had was a mattress and 4-5 books. And how many times will I read these books?

I haven’t even read Diary of a Wimpy Kid this many times. Even those I have six of.

Then the Board announced that they were going to conduct exams which did not happen at the scheduled dates. Even the breaks I had were done for then.

I started crying at my luck.

I filled many applications for colleges. I got call letters from two. I joined one.

I mean, everyone joins only one, right?

No one hates themselves enough to go and try earning two degrees at the same time. No one takes PCM with B in college like they do in school, right?

Who knows? There are always exceptions. I don’t care.

So this is what happened.

This is how my lockdown went.

Nothing fun has happened in my lockdown.

Not in the starting.

Not in the middle.

I can’t see an end to it yet so who knows what tomorrow brings in.
